Here’s a list of resources I use myself, and highly recommend. Some of them are paid products, and some are free resources I suggest you take advantage of.

It’s my policy to only recommend products I use myself, or are intimately acquainted with because I know the people behind the product, and can recommend it with complete confidence.

“Expert Secrets” by Russell Brunson

This is a FREE book! All you have to do is pay the minimal shipping and they will send it to you. If you’re trying to figure out if it really is possible to make money from something you already know, you need this!

This is such a deal, 265 pages chock full of “from the trenches” tried, tested, and proven strategies for getting yourself and your product out there.

Even if you’re not sure you want the book, at least go to the website and watch the video case studies there. They are incredibly inspiring! There’s even a guy who made six figures from selling hotdogs—for real. Check it out!

Click Funnels

Naturally you know now I’ve gotta give a shout out for Click Funnels!

My man Russell Brunson created an empire with this, and for good reason.

  • Want to build a sales funnel for hot dog carts? You know you can.
  • How about automated webinars? Yep.
  • Marketing for plastic surgeons? Sure thing.
  • And my personal favorite for one of my awesome clients…

Portable sawmills? Hello!

  • So there’s a Click Funnel for ANYTHING and EVERYTHING? Yeppers.

And did I mention the 14-Day FREE TRIAL? Oh yeah. That too.

Sign up for free, rampage around building your first funnel, and experience the potential for yourself. Then you can decide. Totally worth it.

Name Silo

Looking for more domains? Sure, why not! The more the merrier. That’s why I recommend Name Silo, because it is very economical.

Domains start as low as $1.89 a year, AND it’s reliably secure.

You can search for the domain you have in mind in their convenient search bar at the top of the page, to make sure it’s available.

Cheap. Easy. Fast. Reliable.

It’s all good.

And now, hosting. With a reliable company who doesn’t do any big game hunting cuz they think it’s fun. Just sayin…

SiteGround Web Hosting

SiteGround is super affordable starting at $3.95 a month. They are now considered by many to be much more reliable than other hosts such as BlueHost.

It’s very easy to setup a WordPress website through SiteGround, and they have impressive customer support.

And with their 30-Day Money Back Guarantee, you don’t have to worry about giving them a try.

Now it’s time for Email…

If you’ve grown weary of “confusion-soft” here’s the solution!

Well for starters, let’s talk about cost. It’s true, a picture is worth 1,000 words, so let’s keep this fast and easy while you picture THIS…

Hell yeah! And did you notice there is NO setup cost?

They will even migrate your current list to its new happy home for you. Bless you Active Campaign.

It’s an all in one platform, with Enterprise grade features that are easy to use.

And they’re right on it with free help and training. No more sending an army of tech people to the desert for days of grueling training!

Active Campaign is intuitive, and tracks website behavior, with list integrations and capabilities galore. In fact, Active Campaign is what I recommend to my clients now.

Here’s the crazy part…

If you’re just getting started building your list, you can begin with Active Campaign for as little as a tiny $9 a month.

I’m not kidding. Try it for FREE for 14 days—they don’t even force you to use your credit card for it either. Bee-you-tee-full!

Here’s another great option for email management, especially if you’re focusing on blogging…

ConvertKit

I highly recommend ConvertKit, built by bloggers FOR bloggers. They totally understand what you need with your email campaigns, and WHY you need. It.

You can easily segment your list, and they don’t complicate matters or cost you money by creating the headache of multiple lists with duplicate subscribers.

They also have some very good trainings offered throughout the year, and excellent customer service.

If you’d like to manage your email with a system that is a bit easier, and has less of a learning curve, this could be a perfect fit for you.

Convert Kit also has a 14-Day FREE Trial, so you can take a look and see if it will work for you before you dive in.

FAVE BOOKS:

Let’s read!

These can all be ordered from Amazon—love Amazon Prime for free shipping! Hey, maybe I should also post my favorite shoes from Zappos? OK later on that one.

These are all books I have read, re-read, sent to colleagues and clients, and used over and over again in my business.

They are listed in no particular order, and I’ll be adding to them periodically. From time to time I will also blog about them and what I’ve learned from them.

The Culture Code by Clotaire Rapaille

Did you know he is responsible for Jeep switching from square headlights to round ones? And WHY? Fascinating, and created a massive increase in Jeep sales.

And how about Nestle serving up coffee-flavored desserts to Japanese children? Evil shenanigans or brilliant long-range marketing? You decide.

Just a few of many little-known, powerful marketing lessons on every page of this book.

If you’re a marketer, you must get this one—it rocks!

The War of Art by Steven Pressfield

Have you ever struggled with resistance or reluctance to actually DO what you are called to do creatively? This includes writing copy, filming videos, podcasting, creating new products…you get the idea, right? Read this!

The Go Giver by Bob Burg

What can I say about this beautiful little book? If you’re serious about giving value and creating lasting relationships with your clients, read this. It’s short. A fast read. But HUGE impact.

I still have past coaching clients who received this book from me over ten years ago telling me how much it positively impacted their lives.  Wonder what it could do for YOU?

And who doesn’t love FREE? Anyone? OK, good. Here you go.

Free Resources:

Keywords Everywhere

I give this incredible free tool five stars!

This is super-fast and easy way to research your keywords, plus it has a snazzy new “spy on your competition’s keywords” function that is truly amazing.

You need to install it on Firefox or Chrome. It doesn’t work in Safari. And it is very easy to install. You’ll have it working in less than five minutes.

I guarantee you will get loads of inspiration and ideas about what you should be writing about, as well as phrases that can be turned into Search Engine Optimized blog titles.

No question, you should get it now!

Send Check It

This impressive free tool will analyze your subject lines for spam scores and deliverability.

I was shocked to see how extensive their analysis is! You’re going to thank me for this one.

Remember, your subject line is what gets your emails opened.

They are like little headlines and have a BIG job to do.

But nobody is going to open anything if your subject line gets your message “disappeared” into the Bermuda Triangle of the Internet because it’s been marked as spam.

It’s quite eye-opening actually, so be sure you give this one a workout with your subject lines. You may be surprised at what seemingly innocent words can stop your emails from being delivered.

Same goes for the content of your emails. So here are two ways to get that conquered as well…

Postmark

Postmark Spam Check is an easy to use tool for running your email message through the spam checking process. I made one up with words I was confident would get me knocked out of the game, and sure enough, it did!

NOTE: Sometimes their URL link can be a little fussy, so if you can’t get there through the link, just type Spam Check Postmark App into your search bar and you’ll get there. Then bookmark it for easy access every time.

At any rate, here’s what you’ll see if you cartwheel into the Kingdom of Spam-Doom with the WRONG words…

Yeah, that’s totally NOT good. Don’t send that one.

Mail-Tester

Mail-Tester is another free resource where you can send in your email copy, and get a quick analysis about the “spammyness” of your emails.

Besides helping you assure your emails will get through the filters, you’ll undoubtedly learn quite a bit about word choices for your emails. Fiddle around with it a bit, and you’ll see what I mean!

So just for the admittedly nerdy fun of it, I wrote a quick email to plug into their system, with words I knew for a fact were going to get me wrestled to the ground for spam by any sane filter.

Let’s just say it was an extremely over the top pretend promotion for a certain male enhancement pharmaceutical. You know…BIG trouble. Yep, super spam bait for sure.

Here’s how it works…

You send your email to a special address you copy from the site.

Wait a few seconds (it’s just a FEW seconds, don’t be so impatient!) and click on the button on their site to see your score. You don’t get any kind of email in return, you just click the button.

Click. The. Button.

Did that. And had a good laugh when I got THIS…

So, let me ask you…

Are YOU Feeling Lucky?

“Did he fire six shots or only five? Well to tell you the truth, in all this excitement, I kind of lost track myself. But being that this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you’ve got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky?

Well do ya, punk?”    ~Clint Eastwood as Dirty Harry

Oh yeah, love me some craggy Clint Eastwood. But seriously…do ya?

Tina’s Tip: Never, ever depend on luck with your marketing! Or hope either!

Did I really even have to say that? Didn’t think so. But just in case, I did.

But I digress. Back to our topic (squirrel!)

This is kind of score is what you do NOT want to see!

Well actually I DID want to see it this time.

Because I know for a fact, they are on the job!

If I’d gotten anything less from the really quite brilliantly and eloquently awful fake email I wrote for the test, I would never recommend this as a resource.

I really should show you what I wrote. It was kinda epic if I say so myself.

On second thought…never mind.

Anyway, give it a whirl and see what you get. You’ll probably learn a thing or two.

Or at least be mildly entertained. Yes, I know. It’s a WORD-NERD thing.

That’s it for now, except for this…
